Bollywood’s most successful veteran actor Dilip Kumar has been admitted to ICU at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra, after having diagnosed to be suffering from malaria. The 87-year-old actor who has been suffering from high fever since Saturday was immediately admitted by the family for a proper investigation. Now the actor’s condition is reported to be much stable & better and would hopefully be discharged in a couple of days.

Dilip Kumar was born as Muhammad Yusuf Khan, in Mohallah Khudadad, at the back of Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar, Pakistan, in the then Undivided India on December 11, 1922. He married Saira Banu, another fine actress of her time, in 1966.

Starting his career in 1944, he starred in some of the biggest commercially successful films from the late 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1980s. He was the first actor to receive a Filmfare Best Actor Award and holds the record for most number of Filmfare Awards won for that category. He has been one of the finest actor with geniuine acting skills in the Hindi Cinema.
