If you also feel very poor speed of the system due to very low RAM and you also don’t wish to replace/add any more RAM then try doing following and you will certainly see the difference in CPU response time:

  1. Clean up the hard drives, specifically the one where the operating system has been installed.
  2. Increase the Page size of the Virtual Memory. A paging file is an area on the hard disk that windows uses as if it were RAM. Try doing following:
    • Click Start and right click on My Computer to display System Properties.
    • In the Advanced tab under Performance frame, select settings to display Performance Options.

    • Select Custom size option and give in your inputs to make a part of your hard disk act as RAM.

    • Update with click on button Set.
    • Click on Apply and close it.
    • Yo might need to restart the system before these changes come in effect.

That’s all what you need to do.

Hope it helps!!
