    I am not sure whether you have tried using these services yet, but I have tried this myself but it seems they are far behind the private operator customer services like that of Airtel and Vodafone.

    Service operators over the phone are not even aware of the packages MTNL offers. What more can you expect.

    See a reply from them when I asked about the network problem in Gurgaon:

    I could not understand what they had written.

    As they are the oldest backbone of Telecom industry in India, I would love to see them working on their customer support.

      On 31st august i received a message from MTNL informing me of dection of Rs. 25. from my account for some radio masti which i have not subscribed.
      after repeated calls to their customer cell they send me my call log after 7 days which proved my point
      After the log details i registered my complaint my complaint no. is C090965780. After few days when I didnt receive any callback from the department i called for the same to my shock i was informed that they have solved my complaint proving me & their call log wrong.

      For the last few days they have been just promising to give me a call back but i have not received even after repeated followups

        Chirag bhai, I have 20 yrs exp complaining in MTNL.
        Emails,helpline,one calls donot work.

        If you make PERSONAL visit to office and demand explanation it will work

        u should walk in to MTNL offcie and demand to see the seniormost officer

        if they ask why say serious complaint

        trust me you will not need to see the officer as his deputy will give PROMPT refund.

        just try it my way….always works…always demand for top boss and problem solved.

          I agreee … try visiting them once and they will treat you properly then .. you can also email them and they respond instantly ..

      I would suggest to write them an email … You can also write this down to TRAI … Better to write them a letter on paper and hand it over to the concerned person in some sanchar haat and get the receipt ..

      Additional landline to Loyal Customers of MTNL Mumbai (w.e.f.16.02.2008)

      1. Additional Landline 1
      2. Monthly Service Charges Rs. 100/-
      3. Actuvation Charges Nil
      4. Security Deposit for Local & STD Nil
      5. Free Calls 50
      6. Call Charges beyond free calls (in Rs.) 51 – 300 = Rs.0.80
      301 – 2000 = Rs.1.20
      Above 2000 = Rs.1.00
      NOTE: 1) This facility may be extended to the customer who opts for this and there should not be any outstanding apperas against such customers.
      2) This additional line will be linked with the main line & will work as long as main line works and will be disconnected as and when main line is surrendered or recovered for non-payment.
      3) This line can be either Local & STD or Local & STD/ISD,depending upon main line.
      4) For ISD line additional deposit of Rs. 3000/- is to be levied.

      If a MTNL customer who is already having two connections under any MTNL tarrif scheme before 16-02-2008, and one of his connection is for more than 5 (five years).
      Why this Loyal Customer is not allowed to convert his existing second connection to this
      “Additional landline to Loyal Customers of MTNL Mumbai” scheme and benefit with the lower service charges and free calls.
      Can any one take it up with the MTNL authorities and answer this?

      I would suggest to forward your complaint to http://pgportal.gov.in/ ..Grievance Redress Mechanism in Government.

      I had a lot of bad and bitter experiences (alomost 100%) with customer care executives of MTNL (1500 and 1504) . Once i got go frustated , I filed an RTI get answers to some of my questions.

      but MTNL customer care really sucks!!!!!!

      Sir,

      1. This to inform that I am a contented customer of MTNL services for many years, and have been using services on mobile numbers 9868248055 / 9868248056.
      2. However, for past over a month there is no coverage at (Approximately 200 Meters around) my residence at 03 Sector 20 NOIDA. UP 201301. I had reported the same at the Sanchar Hut, Sector 18 NOIDA UP. The Officer In charge had attended to the complaint and suggested that this matter needs to be taken up with higher authorities to resolve the issue. It is therefore requested that necessary action be taken to resolve the problem of ‘no network coverage’ at house no 03 sector 29 NIODA, UP.

      my landline number of mtnl number is 25420144 and it is dead for last one month.i have sent
      complaint through electronic customer care but still no action is being taken to restore
      my landline no.my area is comes in thane district and pin code is 400605.

      you must write an physical complaint to their sanchaar haat … that may help …

      The telephone number 25042212 a land line connection has
      been on and off since 18th of July and since 3rd August has gone completely
      dead,but when I tried calling the above No from my dolphin connection I get
      that the above no is BUSY, I would like to know HOW WHEN A LANDLINE CONNECTION
      IS DEAD BUT WHEN CALLED FROM ANOTHER NO HOW COME THAT THE LINE IS BUSY,UNLESS
      THERE IS SOME TAPPING GOING ON,IE SOMEONE INTERNAL FROM MTNL IS USING THE LINE
      FOR MAKING CALLS FREE OF CHARGE AT SOMEONE ELSE’S EXPENSE(FOR WHICH  MTNL A CHOR IS FAMOUS FOR DOING AND HAS A
      PAST RECORD) HOW CAN MTNL STOOP SO LOW AS TO DIVERT MY LINE AND USE IT FOR
      SOMEONE ELSE’S NEFARIOUS CALLS, THIS IS UTTER ROBBERY, AND I HAVE BEEN
      WONDERING HOW COME MY BILL IS SO HIGH WHEN HARDLY ANY CALLS ARE MADE, MTNL A
      CHOR IS FAMOUS FOR DAYLIGHT ROBBERY FOR WHICH IT IS FAMOUS WITH DISTINCTION AND
      WILL BEAT ANYONE ELSE WHOLESALE.

      I demand a compensation of Rs 1000/- from MTNL for resorting
      to such means.

      Please lodge all your complaints regarding MTNl at 
      http://www.pgportal.gov.in/ as the no 150/1504are not effective. The reps either disconnect the phone or if they are in a mood to pick the calls for the customer they make are hardly of any help. They put you on hold for 5 mintus and take rest, then thye come and give you an imaginary complaint No. Contact Nodal Officer as well for an effective action along with lodging the complaint.
