The German Federal Office for Information Security (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik) has issued a recommendation to citizens and businesses to switch to another web browser until Microsoft patches a recently discovered vulnerability in Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8.

The vulnerability is reported to have been exploited by hackers who attacked Google servers in China.
