Pune Police going on the lines of Delhi Traffic Police by using technology to educate people and curb crime??

May be they are and it is just a beginning.

Commissioner of Police, Pune are sending bulk SMSs to the citizens of Pune to be vigilant in the festive season to look around and report immediately they find anything suspicious. Last year, around this time only German Bakery blast happened and Pune Police does not want leave any stone unturned to avoid all such situations for the safety of citizens.

Following is the SMS from AZCPPUNE

“For your own safety, please inform Police about any abandoned vehicles or unattended objects or suspicious persons on numbers 020-26122880 or 020-100. C P, Pune”

I repeat these numbers for all Puneites:

• 020-26122880

• 020-100

Store it in your address book and be whistle blower for them, if you find anything suspicious.
