    Check EPF Withdrawal Status Online

    In India, it generally takes 6 to 8 months to settle Employee Provident Fund (EPF) claim from EPF India. Although the current provident fund settlement period is agreed to be one month but still it takes more than 6 months and sometimes only an agent can help us to settle our EPF claims.

    A year back EPF claim settlements were promised to be settled in a weeks time but neither then they were settled in a week nor now they are and I don’t think it would be in a sooner time.

    Not many would be knowing that we can check the status of our withdrawal claim online. You can enter your organization and your PF details there and check your PF withdrawal status. Establishment Code is within your PF number. For e.g. if your PF number is HR/GGN/XXXXX/YYYY then XXXXX is the establishment code and YYYY is your employee number.

    Although it says the system is updated till date but I really doubt if it is a reliable way to know the claim status.

    I have generally noticed only one status: “Your Claim Not Received by this Office!“. If you come across any other status then do let us and others know.

    After I entered my PF details, it displayed that they have received the claim and it is under process. Now that sounds that at least they have received it.

    If you are waiting for your PF for a long time then just  register your grievance at the following link and they may get it done sooner. You may also want to visit them in person or call them to know the status of your grievance. Grievance link

    After writing a grievance, I finally received my EPF and that too within a week of writing the grievance. That’s really good. But do we need to write a grievance for receiving what we should be receiving itself? It’s our right after all.

      How to find establishment code,extn code and a/c number.

      E.g. if a person having PF number as, MH/12345/6666 then what value to enter in text box

        After selecting the city of your establishment …. just enter 12345 in the establishment code and 6666 in the account number (as in your example) …. extension is generally left blank … try it out …

      It’s been one year since i have raised a request for transfer of my PF money. But nothing has happened so far. I have logged a grievance even but PF department is still to take any action. The current status says “Under our examinatio”.
      Can anyone suggest something here.

        that may mean that your pf withdrawal request has not reached there at all .. contact your org to get the receipt of their submission .. after getting it u can personally visit ur rpfc or file a grievance attaching the receipt …

      registering your grievance at Employees Provident Fund internet Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS) portal does not necessarily mean that you will get your refund early.
      I have been waiting with an under process status for over 3 months now and they closed my query with the weirdest and most unsatisfactory reply saying that they are upgrading systems and so it is getting delayed…no mention of estimeated time it would take further to process the refund.

      Hi Nitin,
      I recently applied for PF withdrawl from an organisation where I had worked almost 11 years back for about 9 months. I sent the requisite indemnity form etc and they forwarded it to the PF ofc in Hyderabad. Today I got a letter from PF ofc Hyderabad denying me the claim citing the reason that I have already withdrawn the same on 10-2008.
      My query is that what should be my course of action get my PF because, if I have not applied for PF all these years then how has it already been paid to me in 2008? Atleast my bank account should reflect the money, even if my memory doesn’t!

      kindly advise me ASAP about your suggestions to this problem.

        You should immediately give them a written complaint saying you have not filed for claim before now and the matter has to be investigated as to where your amount has actually gone … if nothing comes I would urge to file an RTI ..

          Iam from chennai but our headoffice in blore and i have left my organisation 1 year before but applied for PF 6 months before iam getting infor from my HR (My EX office) the form was forward to PF office in blore but when i checked online i got status form was  not found

            Please ask for submission acknowledgement from your previous office .. than you can raise a grievance about the same to your EPFO …

        I think you should file a grievance first and if in vain then personally visit your EPFO personally and give them in writing and get it acknowledged …

      Hi all,

      It has been more than 1 year since I submitted my claim. First, the GREAT EPF (BANDRA OFFICE) said they are automating the process and that is the reason for the delay. I have registered a few grievances -  but no response at all. I tried calling them – no response at all.

      In any way, i dont think I will ever get my PF money. I just wonder what are the EPF employees doing there or what would have happened to my money. ????

      Hey .  I have a query. My office is in Gurgaon but my pf  no starts  wid HR/FBD/xxxxx/yyyyyy.  WHEN I M TRYING TO CHECK the balance/status of my pf account its asking to select office which is ideally in gurgaon. But if i select, it gives the pf code starting wid GN/GGN which is not correct.. So if i m selecting Gurgaon i.e: (GN/GGN/xxxxx/yyyyy ), it shows me the pf status and amount as well but if i select Faridabad just for the sake of rite codes i.e: HR/FBD/xxxxx/yyyyy , it shows cannot found… Some body help plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss….

              RTI is right to information and you can get in touch with RTI anonymous or file it yourself … it is very easy to do so .. .just fill up a one page form and submit it in EPFO office along with s minimal fees 20 30 rs … and you will receive info asap …

              I have raised grievance 2 months ago and sent reminder twice. Still there is no response from them. Also I have filed RTI 20 days ago. Its almost 7 months i am waiting for this money. Is there any way to track the RTI status. Because i am wondering after filing RTI also Chennai PF office people not responding.

        You should know the rejection reason first … you should also consult your organisation to know the reason … you can also file a

      I had applied for PF transfer 2.5 years ago and till now I don’t know whether the transfer is completed!
      I have submitted a grievance 6 months ago and the status is “Under Consideration” for last 6 months!!

      Our company has a PF consultant and I asked him to check the status in the PF department itself directly. He used his contacts and told me that the PF transfer is affected on 2nd May 2012.
      But, still I don’t have any written acknowledgement or letter supporting this.

      I tried to check the status online. I read in many blogs (including this one) that we can check the transfer status in the same “Claim Status” link. So, I clicked on http://www.epfindia.com/ClaimStatus_New.html and entered my details.
      I tried with both the PF numbers – the PF number from which the transfer is being done and the PF number to which it will get transferred.
      For both, I am getting the following status:
      STATUS for Member ID: BGBNG00*****00000000** * * No record found* * Data available since last six months. * ** * BANGALORE data availaible from 09-11-2011. Last updated on 08-05-2012 at 05:35 pm * ** * Approval Details on PPO and Scheme Certificates will be made available soon.. * *So, what does mean?The transfer is done and the online status is not correct?ortransfer is not done?orthis is not the correct link?Anybody who had applied for online transfer, able to use this link to know the status?

        You need to contact the authorities for the details … This is true that this link can also be used to know transfer status and I have seen in past but there is some discrepancy in the system too …

        The link basically is for PF withdrawal … you should see a proper status .. my personal experience is to have received PF in around 6 months … try again or share your PF and we can try …
