Do you also face problems sharing correct info, image on your Facebook profile when you like or share any page? Problems like, after sharing a link on Facebook, incorrect image or description is fetched from the page and displayed on your profile. And even after updating the page, the content is not getting updated on Facebook. Even clearing cache on your bog/site doesn’t solve the issue.

Let’s understand the contents of the Facebook Like.

Facebook automatically fetches the required details from the tags within the page. You can see an example of Facebook like below.

Since the above information is fetched directly from the page, then why updating the page does not update the like contents? This is because Facebook after fetching keeps the page info on its server for 24 hours and uses the same instead of fetching it again and again.

If you wish update the Like content then addition to changing your page you would need to scrap the page from Facebook so that new content can be fetched from the page.

A scrapping (not exactly scrapping) tool, called Facebook Linter, comes very handy in this scenario.

Facebook Linter is basically used to analyze the Facebook meta tags returned by the page to be used by the Like and other FB Social plugins. This tool always fetches info directly from the page or indirectly scrapes the cache page immediately.

So, next time you are stuck in this problem just visit the tool and Lint your page to get the updated content immediately.
