    My Stamp : “Personalised” Postage Stamps

    A scheme launched by Indian postal department that allows people to pay for their photos to be printed on postage stamps has become a hit in the country.

    Many people have already registered to take part since the scheme opened and many more have shown their interest.

    This scheme is called “My Stamp“, and allows photographs to be printed on a five-rupee stamp. The personalized stamp has two parts – the currency part and the photograph – detachable from each other.

    • The scheme is aimed at boosting philately and letter writing.
    • The scheme is currently applicable to Individuals only. Companies can’t use this facility as of now.
    • You can get your photo on the stamp or your family members pic. For family member’s pic, you’ll have to take their photo along with an ID card. This is to prevent any misuse.
    • Charges: Rs. 300 to put personalised pictures on a set of 12 stamps.
    • Stamp background is available in 6 different themes:
      Aeroplanes
      PanchaTantra
      Taj Mahal
      Trains
      Wildlife
      Sun Signs
