    Mysteriously, css file for WordPress dashboard of this blog disappeared recently. I was trying to log in to the admin and my dashboard looked like this after logging in i.e. css was not getting loaded.

    Not sure what was the cause but one step that I did and fixed the issue instantly was to re-installing the WordPress upgrade (to 3.1.3). I tried to Google if others are facing the similar issue and saw a number of posts on it.

    Many suggested it could be default_charset issue but I got it fixed by just running the WordPress upgrade. So in case you are also facing the similar issue, just try upgrading your WordPress via Dashboard WordPress Updates (www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/update-core.php)

      in wp-admin/load-styles.php, change

      //error_reporting( 0 );

      //error_reporting( E_ALL | E_STRICT );

      Worked for me… then I could switch it back to ( 0 ) and it was able to load the styles fine.
