    Mahatma Gandhi is undoubtedly the greatest Indian ever. But who stands next to him, especially after Indian independence. Is it Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India or Indira Gandhi the toughest lady or Amitabh Bachchan, the greatest actor or Kishore Kumar, the singing legend or Sachin Tendulkar, the living GOD or Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the most lovable PM of India or anyone else you may think has contributed the most to the Nation what it is today and what it could be 10,20, 30 years later?

    Here’s the chance for you to vote for the selection of The Greatest Indian.

    Based on an internationally acclaimed format by BBC held in 22 countries, the initiative is to select that one great Indian (after Mahatma Gandhi) who is the most influential, iconic & inspirational and has impacted your life.

    You can vote for up to 10 out of 50 nominees that you think are most deserving. You can either vote for them online or give a miss call to their respective unique number. So, if you have 2 mobiles, you can make your vote count twice.

    The jury panel consists of 28 renowned members including Nandan Nilekani, Chetan Bhagat, Shubha Mudgal etc. Out of the 50 nominees they will select top 10, considering the nationwide poll results and then we would have to select and vote for the greatest Indian from the selected 10.

      most of the indians can not accept that dr. babasaheb ambedkar is the greatest indian, because of their currupted minds.everybody know that he made the big revolution in india by which all the world encourage towards the humanity & woman empowerment . colubia university said that he is the most genius person ever in the world. lord budhha is at no. 1 & babasaheb ambedkar is at no. 4 who change the world mostly in last 10,000 years(yes, ten thousand years). in this list no other asian person contained. but indian media are  big news killer. this proves the most of the indians mindset which are totally currupt. if babasaheb becomes the greatest indian in this survey he will push to the 2nd no. because these currupted minds decided that mahatma gandhi is the greatest. but it is not correct. there is no doubt about mahatma gandhi is great but most indian mindset are not capable to tell who is the greatest.
      actually it is insulting to dr. babasaheb ambedkar to keep his name among these people. i do not mean that they are not great, they are also great.(so improve your minds by reading books written by secular persons) most indian writers do no writes the truth. think by mind not by heart .

      Yes that true…Gandhi has no competition since he did nothing for this country….the Jury knows gandhi very well…better keep him off….and stop saying that greatest indian after gandhi…the person who did nothing for this country…not written a single book…stole the buddha’s philosophy…took away the poor peoples right…the most idiot person ever lived in india…How come he will have competition? He use to live with 2 women…how come no one raised a question on his character??….he was in favour of castiesm….he used to write in favour of backward class in harijan paper cause that paper used to publish in english and he used to write against backward class in local gujarati paper called Dinbandhu…he was hypocrite….I just dont understand is that Jury gone mad…whoever started this must belong to Sanatani caste…who divided india on the caste basis….

            If every person in this country has these questions then I really wonder why he is still the Mahatma and if he is then for sure there are only few critics which is acceptable in all forms ….

              Who said he is Mahatma….no one gave this designation to him formally under indian constitution…not even any govt. threreafter…Gandhi fmly propogates that and all sanatani tv channels and ppl upheld that….

              Wikipedia says “Rabindranath Tagore is said to have accorded the title to Gandhi. In his autobiography, Gandhi nevertheless explains that he never valued the title, and was often pained by it”

              Even preamble in constitution states him Mahatma Gandhi .. 

              Not sure what we r trying to prove with this discussion …
