Identifying a fake currency note has never been a laymen’s task. It is either the machines or the banking personnel who deals with currency day & night. There has been a lot of awareness about it but all in vain.

Reserve Bank of India has now come in front themselves to spread the awareness about fake currency notes and how to identify them. A website has been launched explaining ways to detect counterfeit notes.

As per the records, 398,111 notes were detected as fake in FY 2008-09 and it has grown up to 435,607 in just 2 years.

Here’s to explain the features of  a Rs 1000 note and we can ourselves detect the fake ones using these.

Similarly, there are visual presentations with pointers on currency notes of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 rupee denominations at  www.paisaboltahai.rbi.org.in, launched by RBI with a tagline  ‘Pehchano Paise Ki Boli, Kyunki Paisa Bolta Hai’.

Consumers have the option to download posters of these currency notes, which can be used as reference to identify counterfeit notes.

Here’s the TV commercial of Paisa bolta hai campaign by RBI.
