    Know your EPF Balance Online

    This is definitely the most awaiting service from Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

    They already have status service where you can track status of your PF claim, but having this service will definitely going to help anyone and everyone.

    Currently this is only available for some EPFO regional offices but soon more and more office will be added and it will really make a difference after having all EPFOs in it.

    EPFO also plans to replace PF account number with unique identification number, a move which will help in speedy transfer of subscriber’s funds in case of a job change and allow them to track their common accounts online.

    Here’s how you can check your  EPF balance:

    • Go to link: www.epfindia.com/MembBal.html
    • (Direct Link: epfoservices.in/epfo/member_balance/member_balance_office_select.php)
    • Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained and furnish your PF Account number.
    • Leave the extension field blank, in case your account does not have one.
    • You will be asked to enter your name and mobile number. The given mobile number will be recorded along with the PF Account Number.
    • On successful submission of above information, the details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number.

    Currently only following EPFO offices have the data available: Bangalore, Delhi North, Delhi South, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Karnal, Laxmi Nagar.

    Data is available from 120 EPFO offices.

    In case you get error getting to the above page, try this URL with replacing XXXX with the code of your EPFO office:

    http://epfoservices.in/epfo/member_balance/member_balance.php?officename=XXXX
    For e.g. http://epfoservices.in/epfo/member_balance/member_balance.php?officename=GURGAON for Gurgaon Office

    Submit and your details will be sent to your mobile number.

    Important: Just ensure that you enter correct Name as per the PF records else data will not be found.

    After submitting details, following message is displayed and message received on mobile in couple of minutes later.

      Hi My PF status is showing its received on 9-04-2011 and is in progress so can you tell me how much days it will take for credit my PF  money in my account actually already it took more than 90 days for the process.
      So please can you help me out for this.

      Hi, My account number is DL/EXttCode/accountnumber …. but now all the PF banch in delhi.. shows differntly .. starts with DL/CPM/……. or DS/SHd etc….. could you pls tell me how to match it with old account numbers?

        That is because Delhi has been sub divided into multiple EPFOs … wait they all will add to the list soon …

        It takes some time … 5 months in my case …

      does it show only the employees deposit or does it show the total of employee and employer contributions

        It shows total … when amount is deposited to EPFO from the organisation, it is deposited as a whole against an employee

        EE means EmployeE’s (your) contribution & ER means EmployeR’s (your company) contribution

      Hi Nitin,

      I work in Bangalore and my PF number in payslip is displayed as KN/*****/******. But when i try to see the balance online, I select Bangalore and by default, it is displayed as BNG/BG.. Then i have to enter my PF no and im getting msg as PF no doesnt exits.. Can you please help me to sort this out.

      In my case, the ER amount is less than EE. I thought the ER(Employer) amount should be equal to EE(Employee).

        Should ideally be equal unless employees voluntarily instructs his employer to deduct more for his PF …

          Some part of (I think 3.8%) ER goes to EPS or Employee Pension Scheme.
          So, ER will be less than EE. And you wont see the amount in EPS. That you will get either as pension when you retire or you can claim it when you withdraw your PF.

      my pf number is mh/46430/24917, i tried to check the status online many time however everytime time it shows no results found. its been 90 days that i had submitted the pf form at my company please help

        it sometimes takes longer time as expected … plz check vid your orgnaisation if they have already submitted it …

          yes i checked with my company and they said that the form was submitted to the pf office on 3rd feb…. they said that it take 2 months for something which i have never heard of and this was not told to me at the time while i submitted the pf form.. sorry to bother you… now probably it might take another couple of months for the amount to come into my bank account… any idea when please..?

      Hi,
      My Account number is TN/MS/3****/13*****, I tried with portal, didn’t find any option for TN/MS, meanwhile i found TN/MAS, so tried with that one.. After adding all information, I am getting following error 
      STATUS for Member ID: TN/MAS/003****/000/013****Invalid Member_id / Data not updated against this TN/MAS/003****/000/013****

      Hello Mr Jain… Thank you so much for your replay… I did tried to check my PF status on the link that you have posted however I ve been asked Establishment Code and the Account Number.. I have my PF reference number as mh/46430/24917 I m not sure how to check my PF status now… Please help as its been 5 months now that I had submitted the form… Thanks once again

      Hi Nitin, your blog has really been helpful. Kindly help me with regards to my pf balance.
      I worked in deloitte for nine months in 2008. Today when i enquired about my pf balance like mentioned above, i received this message which states that ee amt is Rs.35048 and er amt is Rs.12719 as on 7.6.2012 a/cs updated on 31.03.2012. Kindly help me with what exact amount can i withdraw. Please.

        Your total amount in the PF is the sum of the two you mentioned and you withdraw the full amount if you have left the organisation with which you had the PF account …
