If you are using Microsoft Outlook and connecting to an exchange server to use official mails then it is possible to recover your deleted mails from the exchange server for past 1 week or so.

Read below to see how:

Open Registry Editor (Write regedit on Start–> Run and click OK)

  • Navigate to
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options
  • On the right Pane, check if see a value name: DumpsterAlwaysOn
  • If Yes, set its value to 1.
  • If No, then add the following registry value: Data type: DWORD Value data: 1
  • Close registry.

After you have done that, you can now see an additional option in Microsoft Outlook.

  • Navigate to Tools –> Deleted Item Recovery

All deleted mails in the last few days shall be available.
