Yammer, if you are unaware, is a Twitter like tool for connecting with people within an organisation and as wikipedia explains it:

Yammer is a corporate social network service that was launched in September 2008. Unlike Twitter, which is used for broadcasting messages to the public, Yammer is used for private communication within organizations or between organizational members and pre-designated groups, making it an example of enterprise social software.

Access to a Yammer network is determined by a user’s internet domain, so only those with appropriate email addresses may join their respective networks. According to a statement on its website, the service is used by some 80,000 organizations. In February 2010, the company launched “communities”, which are networks for which access is not restricted by domain, thus allowing businesses to connect to groups such as customers, partners, and suppliers.

Yammer has updated its  iPhone application to improve mobile experience. The latest update is more stable and takes advantage of Apple’s iOS 4.

New features include:

  • Easy to use auto-complete of usernames and tags
  • Attachment viewing
  • Update settings menu
  • Multiple photo attachments
