Few months back after AajTak took over the matter of common man unable to book railway tickets themselves online in Tatkal quota, I thought it might have resolved now as IRCTC chief himself said that the issue will be taken up.

Actually the ever growing issue is that IRCTC has back-door tie ups with infinite agents who sell tatkal tickets on premium price and give share to IRCTC officials too. And job of some corrupt officials is to not allow tatkal tickets to appear online on popular trains and sometimes take the server down for some time so that common man cannot book them online and only agents can book them somehow.

I still remember around a year back when I woke up to book tatkal tickets online and tried to log onto irctc.co.in but to my surprise the website did not respond from 8 AM to 8:15 AM and when I could successfully log-in I saw that all tatkal tickets were gone on all major trains and it happened with me for several next days.

Now the questions are:

  • Where did all tickets go when the server itself was down?
  • Why did it go down only at the time when tatkal bookings were about to start?
  • Why agents could still book them on premiums?

But these questions were never answered, even AajTak couldn’t track the cause.

It was that day and even today I am unable to book tickets online

And you know what, I inquired from couple of agents and they have given me 100% assurance that tatkal ticket on any train would be booked with premium of Rs 300 per person. Even, a guy came to collect his tatkal ticket from the agent in front of me.

I don’t know what’s gonna happen to the services which are for common men but are boasting up the agent business.

I really hope somebody is reading this.
