Wonder, how I reached there?? Read here how. I had my first aid treatment after the accident here only. It was my first occasion that I have been there and I really hope that it was my last too.

Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center has been specifically opened as the casualty emergency for All India Institute of Medical Sciences i.e. AIIMS. They treat other emergency patients at their old emergency center at AIIMS.

The structure of this new trauma center is huge and biggest. And while entering it, being in pain though, I was expecting a good polite service from them, because AIIMS is considered as one of the best medical institutes in India, especially in Delhi.

There is a visitor’s hall outside the main entry and it is big enough to accommodate 200-300 people approximately. Stretchers and wheel chairs are available outside. The structure from inside is also huge. The center is fully air conditioned. It seems you are in some private hospital. It looks very neat, cleaned and maintained hospital.

As you enter and go to the Doctor directly, he would ask you for registration to be done at the reception. He would give you a slip and would ask if MLC is to be done i.e. Police FIR. Go to the reception and get yourself registered. I guess you will have to do it even if you are in pain and blood is rolling out. After all it’s a free service from the Govt of India.

You may be surprised to see only couple of doctors handling 10s of casualty patients at the same time. Few arrogant nurses, as always in any Govt hospital, would also be there. They will do all dressings/treatment properly but would treat you and talk to you like they are doing it forcibly.

There is only one minor OT available and you would need to wait if somebody else is already being operated inside.

All required latest medical instruments/medicines are available there so that the best treatment can be given. Beds are also available. All other basic and advanced medical amenities are accessible there. You will have the best treatment there, even better than you can have in any private hospital and too absolutely free of cost.

I really wish no hospitals are ever in use but Doctors are considered to be GOD on earth.

They save life. They really do that.
